When I first started looking for our boat (anyone here old enough to
remember then??) they were highly recommended.
My experience was that they had only a few listings - and I went to the one
with the most listings for my area rep.
However, the broker is key in any deal, and one who doesn't represent the
boat, is, to my mind, better than the lister for my purposes.
And, for my money, Scott Woodruff (copied for you to have his address, and
he yours) at Sunsail is the guy to see; he'll be your rep anywhere on the
islands (as well as having the Sunsail/Moorings inventory to show you), very
knowledgeable, an Oregonian (if that's interesting to you), and will work
hard to get your "right boat" for you. Of course, he can also fill you in
on any particulars WRT buying in the BVI.

"Believe me, my young friend, there is *nothing*-absolutely nothing-half so
much worth doing as simply messing, messing-about-in-boats; messing about in
boats-or *with* boats.
In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter. Nothing seems really to matter, that's
the charm of it.
Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your
destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get
anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in
particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and
you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."
Post by AMPowersHey folks,
Does anyone have any experience with Souther Trades Yacht Sales out of the
British Virgin Islands? I'm interested in purchasing a vessel through
them and would appreciate any recommendations about either this particular
company or issues regarding buying a boat from this country.
Thanks,
Robb
